When you envision a stereotypical grandfather, what do you see? I imagine the first sentence out of his mouth would be something degrading our generation. Then he would tell a stratum about how kids dont do things the way it was do back in his day. But what Grandpa is trying to swan is things are changing, and not for the considerably. The thing is, Grandpa is right. Kids are macrocosm detrimentally coddled and this gloved treatment of our nations youth is creating an environment of entitlement and laziness. The pathetic thing is that this treatment seems to be most prevalent in the sports arena, the exact place that kids are supposed to be taught discipline, austere work and survival.
By giving every kid trophies and eliminating someone awards and threatening to ban kids from playing in leagues because theyre too good, we are creating an environment that prevents kids from ever hearing that they need to modify and then they dont know how to take it when they get fired from a job. Even worse, now that parents and coaches seemingly arent allowed to yell at kids, this has created a business environment that lacks a kind of tenacity that allows a boss to ream into a lazy employee.
