On July 5th, 1884, the English gravy boat named Mign onenesstte was struck by a wave and sank. The drop down of the ship left Captain Tom Dudley; Edwin Stephens; Edmund Brooks; and 17 year old Richard Parker, stranded at sea in a life boat. later on about 20 days, devil cans of turnips and a turtle, the hunger was unbearable and young Parker became very harm from drinking seawater. The decision was made, and 17 year old Richard Parker was killed after Tom Dudley pushed a penknife into his jugular vein; and his personate became their meal.
Was this trifle murder, or was it an act of desperation? It was said that the idea of design lots was considered before Parker was off. If young Parker had given consent for them to social occasion his body, would it have made the act mor totallyy correct? It was in addition said that when Dudley proposed the idea of drawing lots that Brooks opted out. After being rescued, Parkers body was found in the boat and Dudley and Stephens were regulate on trial. Brooks was exempt from being put on trial since he never physically murdered Parker, sluice though he still used his body for nourishment. Although Brooks did nothing to stop the boys death, Dudley and Stephens were the whole two to face a jury and be prosecuted.




It was withal know that Parker was traveling the seas with no family to return to, and being scarcely 17, he had no children. This, though morally incorrect, made Parker an even better target. Dudley, Stephens and Brooks had families to return to, while Parker did not.
