1. Plot Summary
There is a man who is called come off. He is our narrator. Before we really slam who he is, we hear the advice that he got from his baffle: Whenever you feel alike criticizing anyone, just memorialize that all the people in this realism havent had the advantages that youve had. We learn that our narrator is non-judgmental. As a result, people tell him their life stories naturally. We find out that he is a Carraway, which means wealth and class. He went to Yale. This man introduces us to the setting: New York City and the twin villages of West orb and East Egg in Long Island. West Egg, where Carraway lives, is not as fancy as East Egg, but its still pretty fancy compared to the rest of the world. On this slight fashionable Egg, pass Carraway who is a bond man lives following to a huge mansion inhabited by a mysterious Mr. Gatsby. Nick goes to East Egg to have dinner with Daisy, his second cousin, and her husband, Tom Buchanan, whom he went to college with. The Buchanans have tons of money, and Nick likes to tell us all about it. Tom is a rather large and aggressive former football player. In other words, this guy is not the sensitive type.
We then project two women dressed in white, Daisy and her friend, Jordan Baker. Daisy and Tom have a child, who spends the majority of her three-year-old time sleeping in the other room. When Nick casually mentions Gatsby, Daisy gets interested about him. They started to joke about mingled things.
