All throughout Canada in the 20th Century thither have been some events, actions and decisions that are called defining moments. Canada has provided armor, weapons and military devices to troopsy countries throughout history. Canada has been though it all; political moments, friendly moments and military moments however, the three or so significant moments in Canadian history are the battle of Vimy Ridge, the Day of Deliverance and the Korean War. These moments have changed the way Canadians like and think today.
Vimy Ridge was a significant moment because it brought world recognition, a strong horse sense of patriotism, and became a symbol of nationalism and sacrifice. It marked the first period a battle was planned strategically rather than with manpower. The man responsible for this strategy was Arthur Currie. He organized a scoff version of the ridge behind the battle lines and told each social unit of the regiment its objective and strategy (Bolotta 53). Arthur Currie became a respected strategist because of Vimy Ridge, while the Canadian troops were recognized as comminuted soldiers.



With much planning and training this proved to be the most significant battle Canadians has won for the Allies in 1917. (Evans 357). It was not only a turning point for Canadians, but it was a turning point for Canadians as well. However, the advantage came at a high price with 10,602 Canadians killed and wounded (Bolotta 54). As a government issue of this victory, Canada won a seat as a cave in nation at peace talks after the war, but unfortunately it was at the expense of many Canadian lives. The victory at Vimy Ridge helped establish a feeling of authentic nationalism, the one thing Canadians needed most. This was a significant flavour in the growth of Canadian pride and nationalism (Bolotta 54).
